Bayou Snowballs in Roanoke

The snow cones were pricey but delicious. I got a palace with pink and blue cotton candy and birthday cake and it was yummy! Was a little expensive but so so tasty!

Always nice employees and allergy friendly as well

They have the best snowcones but every time I go in the girls working there have no interest in greeting you, they just want to get back to talking. If they had a better staff it would be worth the drive.

Being people who know what *real* Louisiana snowballs are like, we were skeptical to try this place, although the decor pulls straight from the French Quarter. After speaking with one of the owners and discovering her husband is from Louisiana, we gave it a go (she gave a generous sample!). Let's just say we weren't disappointed. This place is amazing - exactly like the real deal (in fact, I'd say it is). We're liable to drive to Roanoke purely for a snowball at this place.

I don't know why I didn't know they sold a rotating supply of Hershey's Ice Cream. I just thought it was Snowballs! IT WAS AWESOME. Went back twice in a week. Very friendly service and a neat little story. #ShopLocal

Snow cone was refreshing but waited (no exaggeration) 20 mins for 2 snow cones because it was packed and under staffed. The 2 kids behind the counter were doing the best they could. I ould consider going back but not on a summer Saturday afternoon.

My husband an I stopped at this place to get ice cream. The young girl working the ice cream counter was EXTREMELY RUDE. She barely listened to what we ask for an then she gave me the wrong cone. I mentioned to her that was the wrong cone an she got a real attitude. So I decided to just go with what I had rather than cause a scene. Then my husband got a milkshake it took 30 minutes to make a milkshake. An the entire time we were waiting on the milkshake the 2 young girls at the counter were being very rude towards us I'm sure it was because I pointed out I had gotten the wrong thing. The single scoop of ice cream was extremely small an the price was extremely high ! We will NOT be patronizing this establishment again and we will alert others as to the horrible customer service we received ! The girls at counter need to be more mature an learn some customer service skills.

Best shaved ice and ice cream I've ever had. Small shop but the employees make you feel like you're right at home. Thee are so many flavors to chose from, and you can mix and match up to 3 flavors. It's absolutely delicious and there's no denying whoever goes there would come back again, it's that good!

The service was absolutely fantastic and my Tigers Blood snowball was even better! There were so many different flavors of the snow balls and ice cream. The lady was very kind and wanted to ensure that her product was good which to me is a very endearing concept.

This is my favorite treat and I can get it all year round! The shaved ice is excellent. So many flavors to choose from and the ice itself is very soft and fluffy. If shaved ice isn't your thing, you can get some ice cream instead. The staff is always friendly and helpful if you have questions about flavors. You can eat in or sit outside.

The outside seating is nice. I like how the place is decorated with little alligators & such. The snow balls had the right amount of syrup for me. The also serve ice cream. They have a wide variety of flavors for "snowballs"

I would always come in when the owner was around and she is a lovely person. But, the last two times that I have visited, there were only rude teenagers working. On the first visit I walked up to an employee who was sitting on the counter and asked for the snowball menu and his response was “We don’t have menus. What you see on the board is the only flavors we have.” I didn’t see anything on the board that I wanted, so I left. On my next visit, I found that they still had the list of snowballs and I ordered a very tasty snowball, but others who were there after my boyfriend and I, were being served before us.

The lady working was so incredibly kind, she helped clarify our questions and added sour spray. The quantity of snowball is enormous and we weren’t able to finish them. The area is clean and the tables outside are decent. There are a lot of snowball flavors but there aren’t any dairy free ice creams.

Chocolate Cherry Strawberry Yum-Yum for my Tum-Tum! A special surprise artistically created and wonderfully refreshing. I can recommend a snowball and am highly impressed with the personalized service on such a busy day. Thank you to the folks at Bayou Snowball!

Originally from New Orleans I had to try a snowball here! They offer lots of different flavor and it tasted just like home. A couple of small concerns would be to offer kiddie sizes, pineapple tidbits. The prices are a bit high as well. That said I enjoyed my Ice cream flavor snowball.

Owner is an exceptional human being, who kindly made suggestions to me and my daughter, and offered a free sample. Bayou Snowballs are delicious and refreshing and the milkshake was great too.

As a native Louisianan, I was very impressed with the snowballs here. The ice, flavor, and price is great. The customer service is excellent; the owners get all of their equipment from Louisiana! Highly recommend.

July 27th, we were the only customers when we walked in, still took 20 plus minutes to get 3 sno balls, crazy slow. Not very friendly young staff.

I pass this place twice a day every day. Today I decided to try it out. Best choice I've made in a long time. The shop is small yet very quaint. The staff is phenomenal!! The menu for ice cream is a little on the small side, however, they have a couple dozen flavors for the snow cones. The prices are extremely reasonable. I got a triple scoop and paid less than $5. The young ladies that work there make you feel welcome and right at home. They don't have any seating inside, however, they do have seating outside under a canopy. Very, very nice place. Highly recommend.

If you are in the mood for a finely-shaved icey treat, this is the place. Plenty of syrups to choose from, suggested combos, and they even have ice cream (about 8-10) flavors for those that are in the mood for something a bit heavier. The consistency of the ice was good (very finely shaved) and the service was excellent and friendly. Pina colada, pineapple and cream was delicious. Definitely recommend adding cream, whatever flavor you choose!Pros: Great product, outdoor seating, very friendly service.Cons: They should offer a kid's sized version (their small is still quite large, and not cheap at $3.50)
